Filia was founded in 1952 and produces crayons and pastel crayons as well as special products for industry and hobby.
Filia started as a teamwork between an engineer and a steel manufacturer, the latter thought of the name 'Filia' which means 'small daughter' -  meaning that Filia became a subsidiary company to the steel factory.

Since the beginning all Filia products have been produced as an independent unit, all products consist of innocuous ingredients and approved colours which has been the case since 1952.

Basicly, we use natural materials only mixed with colour, and everything complies with heavy EU demands concerning production of toys and hobby materials.

Filia only use the best colour pigments of the highest quality. Consequently, all works of art - big as well as small - keep for a very long time. We have some 40-year-old ones that still keep the colour.

The possibilities of making one's own unique varieties are infinite, because it is possible to mix and blend colours exactly as you wish by way of pressing the crayon with more or less force.

Filia colours do not come off, and both the pastels and the crayons leave a completely dry surface - a precaution when small hands play with the colours.

The crayons do not crumble, so you need not worry that the colours melt in the sun.

Furthermore, all Filia colours are CE and A marked. We are comprehended by the Joint Council for Hobbies and Creative Arts (www.fffh.dk).

Filia colours can be bought everywhere. The sizes of boxes comply with any need. It has been like this for 60 years.

Today, the production takes place in modern environments not far from Korsør. We export to several EU-countries - almost 60% of the production - another proof of our high quality and expertise.
